A busy week so far....

Wow, what a week it's been! Monday morning I started off with an interview at a local scrapbook store, then off to the mall to buy rugby boots for my 10Yo and soccer boots for my 16Yo. Then rushed to the store for something for dinner and to stock up on some lunchbox fillers for the kidlets return to school . Poof I was exhausted. Once home I had to rush back out to the post office to send off the little fellow below, which is a reborn doll I made for my nice, Abbi. His name is Joshua and the poor little guy has far to travel allll the way to South Africa. The back home to cook dinner, then on the couch for the next installment of The Voice.

Some exciting news though..my local scrapbook store gave me a Silhouette Cameo to test drive for them..so I have a new toy to play with..and as I am a digital cutter junkie, this one is going to be hard to give back..LOL I will keep you all posted on my findings.

Today, Tuesday, was spent at work..yip 8am-4pm on my weary little feet. I am tired BUT tomorrow is ANZAC day here in Australia so we get to relax..I have a huge brunch planned for me and my 4 men.

Webster's Pages Gift for a friend..

 My wonderful neighbour Jennie had a birthday last September. Jennie was studying to be a chef and is very passionate about cooking. I made her this Recipe "box". It has slots for her to put recipe cards in and I made folders for her to categorize them all. I used Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue papers for this. I was inspired by Laura Dennisons project. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. The quality of the pics are not too great..but hey, and iPhone is for chatting not photos I guess.

Some Twiddleybitz projects to share...

I am on a voyage of discovery this weekend, teaching myself how to take decent photos of my projects and trying to learn how to use my GORGEOUS new Canon EOS 1100d  SLR hubby bought me. So hopefully I will be posting better pics of my projects shortly.

In trying to catch up my blog I am continuing to post pics of some of the projects I have done since my last blog post almost 2 years ago (blush blush).

 I had such a blast making these off the page projects. They are all using Twiddleybitz chipboard.  I decided to take the shadow box and make it into a shabby chic boutique. I turned a plain flat chipboard dress form into a piece of haute couture..lol. I was inspired by Carol Thompson's Christmas scene on the Twiddleybitz ning site.

This gorgeous bird cage wan another fun Saturday project I decided to try. I even experimented with my newly acquired rusting powder which adds that little bit of vintage shabby effect to the project.

This beautiful chandelier chipboard piece is so elegant it didn't need much else to make a pretty card I made as part of a swap.

An altered canvas..attempt number 1..

Right... so the "word on the street" is that mixed media is growing in popularity..plus scrapbookers are trying to find new and exciting ways to showcase their photos and memories as altered canvasses. So not wanting to "not be one of the cool kids" I decided to give it a try.
Now Multi-medium, gesso, impasto etc were swear words to me so I just played around..so dont judge too harshly!
Here is my first attempt..it needs a LOT more work BUT I am very proud..I made that printed tissue paper myself, tried texture past with a stencil and had a BLAST with Lindy's stamp gang starburst stain sprays to colour the background and all the previously white flowers!

An old Mini album I made..Prima rocks!

I made this album some time ago..it was done with the ever gorgeous Prima range of papers. I love making mini albums from scratch using plain cardstock and chipboard. I hope you enjoy the pics...

Dusting off....

Gosh how time has flown since I last posted on my blog. Its been almost two years. So much has happened in that time but all good stuff, thank goodness.

When I last posted we had only been in Australia for a few months and here we are 2 years later. We have all settled in to our new lives here and are loving every day.

On the crafting side I initially put my crafting on hold for quite a while and focussed on getting my hubby and 3 sons settled into our new lives. Setting up a new home, helping the boys settle into their new schools etc took up quite a lot of time.

I even ventured into a new hobby, that of Reborn Dolls and have made 3 already. A new challenge with new learnings but it has been fun.

At the bottom of my blog I have set up a little slideshow of some of my older projects that I never posted on here before. These are some of the projects I did while working for The Wholesaler to provide the various lines they carry. Over the next few days I will be posting pics of some of the more current stuff I have made.

So my feather duster in hand, I am cleaning up and dusting off and getting this blog back in business.
