A Simple Thank you will do...

Hello and Happy Autumn.
It’s Bridget here for another Design Team project. This time I am using papers from a new line from Ultimate Crafts called Gapchinska, Supplier of Happiness as well as a few bits and pieces from La Aquarelle and a stamp set I cannot live without from the Ooh La La range.

I have made a quick card just to show you how quickly you can make a card for a friend or loved one. There are 2 gorgeous A4 paper pads in the range which work so well with cards and most paper craft projects. The 3D decoupage sheets makes putting a card together so quick and easy as they are pre-cut.

So let’s get started.

I am using a 5x7 card base for my card.
To start the layers I cut one piece of light blue cardstock at 6 7/8” x 4 7/8” & adhered a piece of patterned paper to the top.

The patterned paper measures 4 ¾” x 6 ¾”.
I stuck a piece of cream organza ribbon vertically down the card, about 1” from the left hand side, followed by a bow from the same ribbon.

In the new La Aquarelle range there is a set of brass ornaments called the Filigree Ornament set which is the most amazing set of petals perfect for layering. I layered 2 pieces together and added a pearl to the center and placed that in the middle of the bow.

For the smaller layer I have cut the blue at 5 1/8” x 3” and the patterned paper measures 2 7/8” x 5”. I have stuck them together and placed them on the card.

I chose one of the 3D decoupage little girls, layered it using 3D foam tape and stuck her down on the card.

Next up I stamped a sentiment from the Ooh La La Thoughtful Wishes stamp set & embossed it onto a strip of vellum. I used the amazing Silver Dollar embossing powder from Couture Creations.

I then glued it onto a piece of the pale blue cardstock and stuck it to the bottom of the card.

Quick and easy, the card is done. There are so many ways one can embellish these cute 3D decoupage characters. Ask your stores to get them in and have a play.

Hope to see you all again soon.

You're Beautiful With Enchanted Tea Party

Hello fellow crafty people and welcome to another blog post using the amazing Enchanted Tea Party collection.

I have made a layout today, and I hope you will try your hand at this one.

I started off cutting a ¾” border out of the gorgeous striped paper. As I am layering it with cardstock this is a great way to save paper as you can use the center bit you cut out for some of the layers.

I trimmed a piece of white cardstock down to 11 ¼” square, attached the “frame” to the back and added the beautiful green patterned paper on top of that. The green paper is 11” square.

The next step is to do a bit of layering.

The back piece in blue measures 9” wide x 9” high
The cream piece measures 4” wide x 10 ¼” high
The soft blue piece (top layer) measures 9 ¼” wide x 6” high

I did some fussy cutting of the papers for the border strip as well as the gorgeous tea cups. They were mounted using our wonderful foam tape to add some dimension.

The 2 white photo mats measure 3 ½” x 4 ½”. I die cut the beautiful Adventure Time Tags from white and the teapot from The Invitation Set out of blue.

A metal key, some seam binding and one of our gorgeous flowers finished off a lovely soft layout which I must say I am pretty happy with.

I hope you enjoyed my project for today. I will be back soon with some more inspiration.
Happy crafting

Enchanted Tea Party Invitation & Wallet

The kidlets are back at school, it's time to craft. I got some of the gorgeous Enchanted Tea Party to play with and I love it. It is pretty but slightly whimsical and just so versatile.

I have a special occasion coming up and needed some unique invitations and this range fitted that description perfectly.

I would love for you to make one too so let's get right into how to make the wallet and invitation that fits inside.

Base of wallet:
Cut kraft cardstock 5 1/2" x 9 3/4". Score at 3 1/2" and 7". Round the corners of the shorter end piece.

Wallet Strap:
Cut kraft cardstock 5 1/2" x 2".  Round both the corners of the end piece.

Decorative pieces: (this is for the inside and outside)
Panels - From cream cardstock cut 4 pieces 5 3/8" x 3 3/8" and 2 pieces at 5 3/8" x 2 5/8". (On these 2 pieces round 2 of the corners on the long side)
Strap - From cream cardstock cut 1 piece 5 3/8" x 1 7/8". Round both the corners of the end piece.
From Enchanted Tea Party patterned paper cut 4 pieces 5 1/4" x 3 1/4" and 2 pieces 5 1/4" x 2 1/2". (On these 2 pieces round 2 of the corners on the long side).
For the strap cut 1 piece 5 1/4" x 1 3/4". Round both the corners of the end piece.

Layer the patterned paper pieces onto their matching cream cardstock pieces. Attach the panel pieces to the outside and inside of the wallet base. Do not attach the strap yet.

For the accordions inside the wallet cut  2 pieces 4" x 3 1/4". Score at 1/2" increments on the 4" side. Fold and attach glue to each end. Position on inside of wallet and stick down firmly.

Using our gold glitter cardstock cut out one of the Victorian Rectangle Nesting dies, the one that is slightly wider than your strap, and then cut it into a buckle to fit over the strap. Slide the buckle onto the strap.

To attach the strap apply some double-sided tape to the bottom half of the strap and stick it down to the back of your wallet. Gently fold it over the front of the wallets. Apply a thin strip of glue underneath the strap. I used some sticky velcro dots to create the closure.

To neaten up the strap at the back cut a rectangle out of the cream and kraft cardstock and then using the nesting set dies cut out the scallop out of cream and the circle out of a scrap of the patterned paper. Layer these up and glue them down.

The last step on the wallet is to add pearls to the strap.

For the invitation cut as follows:
Kraft cardstock 4 1/4" x 6" score at 3"
Cream cardstock 4 1/8" x 2 7/8"
6x6 Enchanted Tea Party patterned paper cut at 4" x 2 3/4". Glue the layers together and place on the front of the card.
From the gold glitter cardstock die cut the "You're Invited" from the Enchanted Frame die set and adhere to the front of the card.

A Simple Valentine's Card

Hi there, Bridget here with another project for January. Can you feel the love? It’s almost Valentine’s Day and unlike Christmas,  I want to be ready with cards for all my loved ones. So, today I have made an easy Valentine’s Day that lends itself to “mass production”.

I wanted to move away from the traditional white & red for my card so I went with this softer colour pallet. The products I used for this card are not actually love themed at all but worked perfectly once they were all put together. I have some items from the Ooh La La collection as well as from the Be Merry Collection.

To start off with, score and fold your card base.
Cut Lilac Cardstock 4” x 5 5/8” & Twinkle Paper 3 7/8” x 5 ½”. Adhere the layers together and stick it to the front of the card.

Glue down one of the Ooh La La heart doilies in the center of the card front.
Out of pink cardstock cut the heart border piece from the Art Deco Border set. Trim it down to fit across the center of the card.

Cut a piece of silver glitter paper ½” x 4” and adhere over the die cut.
Cut another piece of Lilac Cardstock 2 ¼” x 3” & Twinkle Paper 2 1/8” x 2 7/8” Place this in the center of the front of the card.

Hand cut a few hearts out of shades of pink, silver glitter and lilac. If you have any punches or dies with hearts use those. Emboss them using the folders from the gorgeous Ooh La La range.

Using our 3D foam tape arrange the hearts within the rectangle on the front of the card.

Lastly, find a Valentine’s Day stamp in your stamp, stamp it on a piece of vellum ¾” wide and heat emboss it using our amazing embossing powders.

Tuck the edges of the vellum around the front panel. Quick and easy your card is done.

I hope you all have a beautiful Australia Day coming up soon and I will be back soon with another Design Team Project. Looking forward to seeing you all at Creative Inspiration Live next month. If you haven’t booked your spot, get moving.

Hugs

Bridget

Wild & Free Canvas

Hello fellow crafters & welcome to 2017. I hope this year is going to be an incredible one for you. We are all very excited for our amazing event next month. If you have not yet booked into the Creative Inspiration Live event, do so quickly. BOTH events are almost sold out.

Today I have made an 8x8 canvas to showcase 2 beautiful photos taken by my son at a zoo back in South Africa. I had to pair the photos with the stunning Wild & Free range.

The layout I did on the canvas is very simple as I wanted to showcase the amazing papers.

I painted the edges and a border using black acrylic paint. I cut a piece of the zebra papers 7 ¾” x 7 ¾” and stuck it down.

The blue feathered paper measures 6” x 5” & the leopard print is 6 ¼” x 3”. Stick them both down. I used one of the borders from the ephemera pack below the leopard print.

The title is popped up on some 3d foam and is also from the ephemera pack.

Next I die cut some of the elements from Wild & Free, the frame and the giraffes (codes listed below).

I cut a fishtail from the tree paper and mounted it on some black cardstock leaving a small border around it. I added a few rhinestones on it.

Mount your photos on some black cardstock and glue down all your elements.
Lastly, I stuck one of the round stickers from the sticker sheet, included in the collection, onto a metal filigree embellishment, stuck it down with some 3d foam and added some hessian twine to the top.

Super quick & easy. Wild & Free, the most wonderful range to play with and showcase your safari or wild life adventure phots with.

Thank you for joining me today..I hope to see you all at Creative Inspiration Live in February 2017.
Happy Crafting!!!
